RHS Drama Presents "Twelve Angry Jurors" November 10-12, 2017

posted Sep 21, 2017, 12:06 PM by Linette Koranda

“Twelve Angry Jurors” is a modern adaptation of the award winning 1957 film by Reginald Rose, “Twelve Angry Men.” The only alteration in the famous film script is the use of female performers, thus changing the title of the play to “Twelve Angry Jurors.”The play takes place in a New York City Court of Law jury room in 1957 on a hot summer afternoon. This play opens up to a silent, empty room, then after a long tongue-tied wait, the Judge’s resounding voice is heard across the room, conveying a set of final instructions to the jurors. We learn that this is a suspenseful murder case and that, if found guilty, the mandatory sentence for the accused is the death penalty. This play, ¨ Twelve Angry Jurors,¨ is filled with drama and suspense that will keep you on the end of your seats with each passing minute; after each defying moment it will be leaving you hungry for more. The conclusion to this death-defying case is yet to be decided, innocent or guilty, you decide! Come feed your curiosity November 10 -12 at the Remington High School play ¨Twelve Angry Jurors¨! This is a play that you just cannot miss!

KAKE-TV has launched their 3rd annual Mascot Mania presented by Lane Enterprises McDonald’s across the KAKEland viewing area. The contest encourages our students, alumni and fans to visit KAKE.com to vote for their favorite high school! The winner will win a new custom mascot costume valued at $3500 and one school within the 5 regions of KAKEland will receive a $1000 prize from our sponsors (Davis Moore, Nex-Tech & EMC Insurance).

Voting begins today, Friday, Sept 1. Click here to vote and please share this link with your students, staff, alumni and parents. Vote daily as this contest goes on for a good month before they narrow it down to the top 5 schools.
Here’s the link to vote: http://kake.secondstreetapp.com/Mascot-Mania-2017-3/

Scores are based on the number of votes compared to the student population to keep it fair between large and small schools; they will use our schools final enrollment number in order to accurately determine the percentage of votes. More often we vote, the better our chances.

DETOUR...Bridge Replacement Detour and Route Time Changes Info

posted Feb 23, 2017, 7:21 AM by Linette Koranda

Is everyone ready for some road construction? If you are like us, we are dreading the closing of 196. As of now, here is the district’s plan. The roads will be shut down Tuesday, February 28th. On that day, buses will begin running approximately 15 minutes earlier. If you ride a route bus, please contact your driver if they haven’t given you a new time when they will be stopping at your house in the morning. If you ride a shuttle bus, you MUST arrive at your school where you get picked up by 7:40. Buses will begin loading then so they can leave at 7:45. The detour we are planning on using for the shuttle between schools is shown in the picture. We will go south on Meadowlark Road to 50th Street, then east to Diamond Rd and north to Potwin. We plan on this adding approximately 15 minutes to the shuttle. In the afternoon, the shuttle will also be approximately 15 minutes longer as well. This means the buses will be dropping off students about 15 minutes later than they are right now. On the 23rd and 24th, Thursday and Friday this week, we will be running the afternoon shuttle on the detour to make sure our times will be correct for the 28th when 196 is closed. So on the 23rd and 24th, students will be dropped off later than normal. We apologize that we have to make the day longer for some students.
